J & J Dechane, Koflyn Syrup
Syrup containing well known ayruvedic expectorant drugs for treatment of cough. Also indicated in the treatment of asthma and bronchitis.
Indication :
Infants and childern's cough associated with infection, irritation, bronchitis and bronchospasm. Children's intractable chronic cough and asthmatic cough.
Composition :
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
Arusha (Adhatoda vasica) - 135 mg.
Dudhi (Euphorbia pilulifera) - 30 mg.
Huma (Ephedra gerardiana) - 90 mg.
Jethimadh (Glycyrrhiza glabra) - 210 mg.
Meradu (Polygala chinensis) - 30 mg.
Nala (Lobelia nicotianaefolia) - 15 mg.
Preservatives : Bronidiol and Propyl Paraben.
Arusha is an expectorant and liquefies thick and tenacious sputum so that it is easily brought out.
Dudhi causes relaxation of bronchi by action on Central Nervous System.
Huma controls the asthmatic paroxysms.
Jethimadh is a mild expectorant and demulcent.
Meradu is a very potent expectorant.
Nala is an expectorant and bronchodilator.
The formulation contains ingredients which alleviet all aspects of cough. It is free from side effects and can be given for long periods. In childern, with intractable cough, it should be administered for atleast 2 weeks and continued further as necessary depending on the response.
Dosage :
Infants : 1/4 teaspoon 3 times a day.
Children 1 to 5 Years: Half teaspoon 3 times a day.
Children above 5 Years: One teaspoon 3 times a day.
Adults : 2 teaspoonfuls 4 times a day (at 4 to 6 hour intervals).
